The easiest way to start earning an income online,
even without a website, is to promote affiliate programs.
Many companies, large and small, offer affiliate programs
where you sign up with them to promote their products by
placing ads or links to their products on your website, blog,
email promotions, newsletters, or in an online classified ad.
When someone clicks on the link and makes a purchase, you get
a commission.
Affiliate programs are free to join and the company provides
all the advertising materials you need to get started: links,
banner ads, product descriptions, ad tracking tools etc.
When you join you will be assigned an "affiliate ID" which is
placed in the product link and identifies you as the commission
earner. Commission rates will vary from company to company so
compare the rate with the price of the item being sold.
Also, check the company's "customer return period" or "return days".
Often a person will not buy on their first visit to a site,
but may return later and make a purchase."Return days", therefore,
are the number of days in which a person can return and make a
purchase and YOU will still receive credit for that sale.
Return days can vary from none to a year or more.
Customers who make a purchase through an affiliate program
do not pay more for an item. In many instances prices may be
lower because some companies offer deals available only through
affiliates.
Earning commissions on "one time sales" are good, but consider
promoting products or services that earn "recurring commissions"
which means you will get paid every month for the same product.
This is usually a "membership site" where the customer pays a
monthly fee. When they pay, you get paid as long as they remain
a member.
Why not get started now? Begin by building your own blog.
For content, write a product review, or compare products for which
you are an affiliate.Place one or two links per product in the content. Never overload your blog with a lot of links and ads.
Maybe you are knowledgeable in your profession or hobby. Use that
knowledge as content for your blog. Place related affiliate links
on your blog.
So, get started now! Don't wait for later.
First, you will need a way to receive any payments you will earn.
Go to PayPal and set up a free BUSINESS account.
You can do this after you set up your blog if you wish.
Then go to http://www.blogger.com , OR scroll up to the very top of
this page and click on the "create blog" link .
First, you will create an account. It's free. Here you will create
your user name and password. Write these down and save them.
Here's a hint:
Don't use your personal email address. Instead, create a new email
address with your blog's name. i.e. blogname@newemail.com
Next you will name your blog. Name it according to the subject you
will be writing about. Also, keep your blog title and blog address
the same. For example the blog you are reading now is titled ecominfosource.net and it's address is www.ecominfosource.blogspot.com.
After naming your blog and adjusting the blog's settings, you can
then go on to choosing a template for it. In other words, designing
the way your blog will look. There are many templates to choose
from and many color combinations you can use.
There is much more to affiliate programs and blogging which I will
cover in future posts but the above info will help get you started.
